Employment Consultant Role

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the attainment of suitable, meaningful employment opportunities for clients, thereby leading to sustainable employment outcomes.

As an Employment Consultant, you will utilize your skills to support and guide clients through their employment journey. This includes building rapport with clients, assisting them in overcoming barriers to employment, and developing work preparation strategies tailored to their needs.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to manage the referral & intake process of job seekers into programs.
  • Assessing job seeker skills, abilities, identifying barriers, and developing intervention strategies in consultation with clients.
  • Developing and maintaining work preparation strategies, job seeking strategies, tailored interventions, and employment support activities in collaboration with clients.
  • Reverse marketing of job seekers to achieve sustainable employment opportunities.
  • Providing pre-employment assistance through vocational counseling, training, job search skills, and work trials/work experience to increase capacity for employment.

Skillset Requirements

Key qualities required for success in this role include:

  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems, maintain accurate data records, and take thorough notes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport, grow, and maintain relationships with clients, peers, and job seekers.
  • Ability to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while prioritizing meaningful employment outcomes for vulnerable individuals.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening check or willingness to obtain one.
