About Swim Teaching

As a swim teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging and safe learning environments for school-aged children. This role requires passion, patience, and excellent communication skills.

You will develop lesson plans that cater to diverse skill levels and abilities, while ensuring students receive the necessary guidance and support to progress in their swimming journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Design and implement effective lesson plans that meet the needs of your students, incorporating various activities to challenge and develop their swimming and water safety skills.
  • Student Progression: Identify and recommend students for level progression as appropriate, acknowledging their growth and achievements.
  • Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Model and teach effective problem-solving skills and conflict resolution techniques to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Qualifications:
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)

  • Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
  • Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
  • Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
  • Teacher of Adults
