Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-focused Garment Developer for a contemporary ready-to-wear brand. In this role, the Garment Developer will work closely with the Head Designer and be responsible for creating patterns from the initial concept stage, through to finalizing specifications and technical packs.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in creating and developing initial patterns from concept, through to final graded patterns for production, and will have a strong background in creating detailed specification sheets, including measurements and grading for local and offshore factories.

They will provide technical guidance to the Head Designer to resolve any fit or construction issues that may arise; attend design meetings during each stage of the design process from concept through to final approval; manage fitting sessions with the Head Designer as required and action fit comments and manage approvals on all sampling through the product development process.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the business timeline and production processes and will be able to make clear, decisive, and timely decisions.

They will have a strong connection with the brand aesthetic and demonstrate a robust knowledge of garment construction and pattern making. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with sound technical garment and fabric knowledge. They will have a creative approach to pattern-making and the ability to demonstrate creative instincts and a clear point of view.

A high level of confidence in navigating deadlines is essential to the execution of this role, as well as an aptitude for problem-solving and responding to challenges with agility.
