We are seeking a highly skilled Product Designer to join our team as a Design Systems Specialist. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for crafting experiences, interactions, and solutions that improve the product for our customers, and drive user adoption.
Key Responsibilities- Continuously evolve and refine our Design System, working closely with engineers and other designers to identify, create and evolve patterns and reusable components to be shared across our products.
- Enable the team by supporting engineers and other designers to adopt reusable components across our organization, answering questions and enabling teams to ship quickly and consistently, while ensuring alignment with our Design System.
- Pair closely with engineers to sweat the details on the implementation of designs to ensure a high-quality product experience.
- Maintain documentation by creating and maintaining clear documentation on usage guidelines to support accurate adoption.
- Advocate for the end user by deeply understanding customer needs, perspectives and goals, by talking to customers regularly, getting involved in research initiatives, running your own evaluative testing, participating in our community, and responding to customer feedback.
- Contribute to our design team culture by participating in design rituals, maintaining our high-quality bar as the product team grows, working on cross-product problems, and pairing on problems together.
- Strong design experience, with a proven track record of successfully designing, building and maintaining design systems within a product organization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey opinions, thoughts, and feelings with other teammates, founders, and customers.
- Systems thinking, with the ability to see the big picture and the connections between complex systems.
- Attention to detail, with a high-quality bar and a commitment to enhancing the experience for customers.
- Pragmatism, with the ability to comfortably work with ambiguity and shifting deadlines.
- Highly collaborative working style, with experience working closely with adjacent roles, such as product managers and engineers.
- Stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate product and design visions, framing challenges and opportunities, to stakeholders with the purpose of creating alignment, and driving towards an outcome.
- A great attitude, with a sense of urgency, risk, and uncertainty about the future that comes with working at an early-stage startup.
