A new role awaits
The Cyber Security and Resilience Branch delivers strategic, tactical, and operational oversight of Cyber Security and Operations throughout the NDIA. This team focuses on developing, enhancing, and maintaining proactive detection and prevention programs to counter insider threats.
As an Insider Threat and Assurance Analyst, you will undertake work that achieves high-quality outcomes across various functions within the NDIA. You will have delegated authority to resolve issues and risks associated with wide-ranging activities, including those integral to capability uplift.
This position requires independent problem-solving and issue management skills. It demands sound decision-making and judgment to produce intelligence advice and operational support.
Here are some key qualifications and attributes we are looking for:
- Previous experience in intelligence, cybersecurity, investigation, or related roles.
- Intelligence and/or security qualifications.
- Background or experience applying intelligence and knowledge of the intelligence cycle, as well as detailed knowledge of cyber operations.
- Initiative appropriate to level.
- Effective time management with a solution-focused approach.
- Independent thinking.
- Analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to present intelligence findings through written and verbal communication to a high standard.
In this role, your tasks may include:
- Conducting fused intelligence analysis in an insider threat context for the NDIA.
- Assisting in managing and uplifting policy, doctrine, process, and governance of the Insider Threat capability.
- Conducting vulnerability and behavioural analysis, providing security intelligence advice about the Insider Threat capability.
- Engaging in active liaison with internal and external partners to influence and reduce risk exposure.
- Managing relationships to gain insight into critical vulnerabilities about trusted insiders within the agency.
- Supporting the Assistant Director in identifying trends and providing intelligence advice on complex security matters.
- Leading, developing, and delivering the vision and strategy of the Agency's Insider Threat Program.
- Providing leadership and recommendations about insider threat and intelligence-related topics using current industry knowledge.
Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Clearance, undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check, and/or Working with Children Check (where required), and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
While ideally performed from designated locations, alternative working arrangements may be considered. This is an ongoing role; however, non-ongoing positions up to 12 months with possible extension up to 2 years may also be offered. A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions within the next 18 months.
