Job Title: Mental Health Care Assistant

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to provide mental health care assistance.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with mental health issues, including challenging behaviors in children/teens.
  • They should also have knowledge of ways to de-escalate challenging behaviors and experience in ASD and Intellectual Disability.
  • Good communication skills and a compassionate approach are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health care assistance, including supporting individuals with challenging behaviors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the family and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.

Requirements:

  • Police check and WWC registration required.
  • Driver's license and reliable car necessary.
  • 1 year of experience in mental health preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
