Markets Model Validation Lead

Our organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to lead the independent validation team. This role will provide an opportunity to partner closely with Heads of Risk and frontline staff in the financial markets and treasury teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the team responsible for independently validating markets models, ensuring high-quality deliverables are met within specified timescales, and communicating outcomes effectively to model owners and approvers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, analytical thinking, and fluency in programming languages such as R, Python, or Julia, along with associated analytics tools. A strong educational background in financial mathematics or a related discipline is also required.

As part of this role, you will establish healthy working relationships with key stakeholders, contribute to policy and reporting, and foster a culture of learning with a relentless focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and providing technical support to a team of quantitative analysts
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders across the organization
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to markets models
  • Delivering process improvements and automation in relation to validation workflows

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the team responsible for independently validating markets models
  2. Ensure all independent validation is delivered to a high quality, and within the times frames set by the business
  3. Communicate outcomes effectively to model owners and approvers
  4. Establish healthy working relationships with key stakeholders
  5. Contribute to policy and reporting
