About the Position

Our esteemed institution is seeking a dedicated and innovative educator to join our team as a Geography Teacher. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding educational experiences to students in stages 4-6, with the capacity to teach stage 6 Economics considered advantageous.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and/or be willing to undertake professional learning to achieve this goal. A strong commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing with colleagues is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a full load of classes as determined by the timetable
  • Provide an academically challenging, stimulating, and safe environment where students are enthusiastic about their studies
  • Foster a commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and sharing of knowledge and information with colleagues
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Display a strong dedication to customer service
  • Engage actively in the wellbeing program of the school, including taking a mentor group each morning and during scheduled wellbeing periods
  • Actively support student engagement in service-learning programs of the school, both within the classroom and beyond it
  • Applicants should be prepared to make a significant contribution to the school's co-curricular program in areas of interest or expertise
Requirements

We require an applicant with:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree in the subject area and current NESA registration
  • Experience in teaching years 7-10 Geography, with the capacity to teach stage 6 Geography and/or stage 6 Economics considered advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in or understanding of the IB MYP
  • Capacity to inspire young learners, possessing a commitment to learning and a passion for teaching
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, a willingness to be an active team member, and contribute to the faculty
  • Demonstrated clarity of educational purpose, vision, and engagement with our School Values
