Job Opportunity

This position is for a Senior Sonographer in Maternal Fetal Medicine, with the responsibility of performing Medical Imaging procedures to a high standard and ensuring diagnostic imaging is made available to clinicians.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Medical Imaging to a high diagnostic quality, performing complex clinical procedures with a high degree of competency.
  • Maintain safety in the unit and current knowledge of all advanced ultrasound practices.
  • Evaluate and audit work quality, manage staff performance, appraisals, escalate concerns as needed, and allocate staff to ensure service coverage.
  • Complete mandatory training, participate in development activities, and develop self-improvement skills.
  • Establish clinical protocols, support Continuous Quality Improvement, and liaise with stakeholders regarding equipment purchases and servicing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Essential Requirements:
  • AHPRA registration to work as a Radiographer, with MRPB of Australia and a valid EPA Radiation Licence.
  • Post-graduate experience in medical ultrasound, with accreditation as a Sonographer with ASAR.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in clinical protocols, manuals, quality assurance, and departmental Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
  • Ability to perform complex clinical procedures within specialist modality, prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and complete activities individually or as part of a team.
