Director of Conference & Events

This role oversees the day-to-day operations of conferencing and/or events venues, ensuring excellence in service and operations.

About the Role:
  • Maintaining a proactive approach while taking direction from management.
  • Coordinating operational activities to ensure smooth running of all functions within the venue.
  • Ensuring departmental policies and procedures are followed.
  • Providing accurate statistical records and reporting.
  • Controlling expenses within set targets.
  • Cultivating sales techniques for maximum up-selling and on-selling.
  • Communicating effectively with other departments to prepare and follow-up on events.
  • Managing stock levels to ensure functions run smoothly.
  • Maintaining high standards for back-of-house areas.
  • Conducting site inspections as necessary.
  • Ensuring charges are correctly posted to accounts.
  • Protecting hotel assets for long-term investment value.
  • Directing and assisting colleagues to achieve high productivity and service standards.
  • Fostering a positive service environment to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Implementing quality control systems using shift checklists and procedure revisions.
  • Staying informed about venue information, objectives, and policies.
  • Serving as a brand ambassador for the venue and hospitality industry.
