Residential Children’s Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Children’s Supervisor to join our team. This is a unique role that involves caring for up to 84 children in a fortnightly cycle.

About the Role
  • Provide care and support to children before and after school, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with other supervisors and health/education professionals to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Develop and implement engaging activities and experiences that promote children’s social and emotional development.
  • Maintain a ratio of approximately 1:10-12 children to ensure individual attention and care.
Responsibilities
  1. Care for children before and after school, providing support and guidance as needed.
  2. Work collaboratively with other Supervisors and health/education professionals to provide a safe and nurturing environment.
  3. Develop and implement engaging activities and experiences for the children, promoting their social and emotional development.
  4. Maintain a ratio of approximately 1:10-12 children, ensuring individual attention and care.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents, with ability to make connections, empathise, listen and document as required.
  • Passion for supporting children and understanding of trauma-informed practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other Supervisors and health/education professionals.
  • Relevant qualification, territory level desirable but Diploma and Certificate IV qualifications also considered.
  • HLTAID012: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting (or willingness to obtain).
  • Licensed driver (for small 25 seater bus) or willingness to obtain.
  • Full COVID vaccination required.

This is a unique role with shift requirements including 72 hours worked over a fortnight (12 days), with shifts starting at 3pm or 7am and finishing at 9pm or 9am respectively. You will have ample time off between shifts, and every second weekend off/program is closed.
