Are you a seasoned insurance professional looking to take your underwriting career to the next level? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Underwriter to join our team in Brisbane/Melbourne, Australia.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to manage and build upon a book of business that aligns with our strategic focus. You will be responsible for developing and building a profitable book of financial lines business, establishing and expanding broker and customer relationships, and underwriting assigned accounts while ensuring appropriate analysis and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial property, casualty, and specialty insurance clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers to drive business growth.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide expert underwriting recommendations.
  • Work closely with our claims team to ensure seamless claims handling and excellent customer experience.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 4 years of Financial lines underwriting experience.
  • Solid underwriting fundamentals with specialties in D&O and Professional Indemnity.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial analysis and financial markets.
  • Existing broker and customer relationships, or the ability to develop strong relationships quickly.
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills.
  • Strong communication skills including negotiation, written communication, and presentation experience.
