Job Overview

The Work Health and Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in driving organisational compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice. The successful candidate will leverage data insights and performance metrics to identify trends, enhance safety outcomes, and foster a resilient workforce.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead the implementation of WHS strategies aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives and values.
  • Provide expert counsel to senior leaders on WHS best practices, risk management, and other WHS priorities.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure WHS is integrated into strategic and operational planning.
  • Oversee and manage workers' compensation claims and early intervention processes.
  • Accountable for regular site audits and safety inspections to ensure facility compliance with WHS standards and building codes.
  • Lead the development, review, and implementation of WHS policies, procedures, systems, and frameworks across the organisation.

Qualifications:
  • Proven strategic acumen and systems thinking to develop impactful WHS strategies and frameworks.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS leadership role and previous enterprise responsibility preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of WHS and Workers' Compensation legislation (state and federal).
  • Proven ability to analyse WHS data and performance metrics to inform strategic and operational improvements.
