Position Overview: English Editor

We seek detail-oriented and committed professionals with a profound understanding of the English language and the intricacies of academic writing to assist scholars in disseminating their research. English Editors enhance academic work by refining the language of peer-reviewed articles to meet publication standards.

Successful candidates will undergo a probationary period during which they will receive comprehensive training from seasoned editors, followed by opportunities to expand their roles and develop expertise in various areas.

This is a full-time, in-office role. The starting salary is competitive, with increments based on qualifications after the successful completion of the contractual period.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Edit scholarly articles across a wide range of subjects submitted to MDPI's journals to ensure they meet publication-ready standards.
  2. Utilize knowledge of the English language and the manuscript's context to enhance clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy, preserving the author's original voice.
  3. Ensure compliance with MDPI's editorial guidelines.
  4. Consistently meet tight deadlines and achieve targets.
  5. Engage in additional responsibilities, such as training colleagues and editing corporate communications.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential Requirements:
  1. A bachelor's degree in any field.
  2. Native proficiency in English.
  3. Experience in editing, translation, or publishing.
  4. Strong time management and organizational skills.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international team.
  7. Valid work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Professional experience in academic research or publishing.
  2. A master's degree, PhD, or equivalent qualification.
  3. Familiarity with LaTeX typesetting.
  4. Experience in a corporate office environment.
