LOCATION: Melbourne, Australia
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-time, 60% capacity (3 days p/week)

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and Senior Financial Accountant, engaging in comprehensive financial accounting activities for the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) region.

Your key responsibilities will encompass ensuring precise monthly and annual financial reporting to essential stakeholders, including the corporate office and local directors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monthly Financial Management
Complete and submit the monthly BAS calculation, including analytical reviews for both Australia and New Zealand.Calculate and prepare monthly Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) entries and process related journals for both regions.Oversee the BCG School Scholarship Program, which includes maintaining tracking spreadsheets, addressing inquiries, approving and processing monthly reimbursements, and completing monthly reconciliations with a thorough understanding of FBT implications.Prepare and submit quarterly FBT returns for New Zealand to the Inland Revenue.Collaborate with the local Mobility team to prepare intercompany invoices and statutory reports.Generate weekly cash flow forecasts for both Australia and New Zealand to assess funding requirements.Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with month-end processes, including posting monthly journals and completing related balance sheet reconciliations.Provide support for the Accounts Payable function, including assisting with the setup of monthly statements.Prepare and lodge quarterly surveys for the Australian Bureau of Statistics.Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the local expense budget.Annual Financial Reporting
Prepare necessary reconciliations for year-end audits and address all financial accounting-related inquiries from auditors.Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements.Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of tax entries.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of accounting or relevant experience.Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.CA qualification in progress or completed.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and time management abilities.Proven ability to work independently with a strong commitment to self-directed learning and continuous improvement.Solid understanding of accounting principles, including a strong working knowledge of debits and credits and IFRS.Detail-oriented with a genuine passion for accounting.COLLABORATION
