
Senior Indigenous Case Manager

This role is a priority for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples who will be given special consideration as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.
Reducing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal people in the justice system and achieving a reduction in the rate of reoffending require unique strategies and initiatives.
The Department has developed this role to manage a caseload with a majority of Aboriginal offenders. This involves conducting risk assessments, preparing case plans, providing interventions, and addressing the underlying causes of offending while directing and monitoring compliance with court order obligations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Managing a caseload with a majority of Aboriginal offenders

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Knowledge of case management processes and frameworks
- Ability to develop relationships with Aboriginal organisations and other organisations that support and strengthen the case management process
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community
- Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community and the social and cultural issues impacting upon it
- Knowledge and experience to provide strong personal guidance and advice, and the ability to negotiate from a position of strength
