Inventory Coordinator Job Overview

The Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the entire inventory lifecycle, from ordering and receiving to storage and maintenance. This role is crucial in ensuring that our stock levels are accurate and up-to-date, allowing us to respond quickly to changing demands.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing inventory in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate the receipt, inspection, and storage of inventory items, ensuring accuracy and quality control at all times.
  • Replenishment and Restocking: Monitor inventory levels and raise requisitions for stock replenishment using daily reports, ensuring timely restocking and minimal stockouts.
  • Stock Maintenance: Maintain an organized and efficient store layout, including regular rotations and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Provide updates on inventory status and availability to relevant stakeholders, including maintenance teams, procurement, and senior workshop personnel.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in purchasing, storekeeping, and inventory control within a maintenance or workshop environment.
  • Sound understanding of mechanical, electrical, and terminal support systems and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of stock control, auditing, and invoice processing procedures.
  • Proficient in using computerized inventory systems and highly skilled in MS Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone technique.
  • Familiarity with workshop tools, equipment, and general plant operations.
