About the Role

We are seeking a Crisis Support Specialist to join our team in Townsville, QLD. The successful candidate will provide immediate assistance to victims/survivors of interpersonal violence, delivering trauma-informed support and connecting them with essential resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inbound calls and triage situations with compassion and empathy
  • Provide psychological first aid and emotional support through CBT interventions like mindfulness and grounding techniques
  • Undertake risk and needs assessments, safety planning, and guide service users through referral pathways
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in community and human services with a trauma-informed approach
  • Diploma or higher in relevant fields like community services, youth work, or counselling
  • Risk assessment and case management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and navigate sensitive situations professionally
