Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Lifestyle Solutions. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently.
Key Responsibilities- Mentorship and Skill Development: Guide customers to explore and develop their personal interests and hobbies, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Coaching Independent Living Skills: Teach customers essential skills such as cooking, domestic, and social skills, enabling them to live safely and confidently in their own homes.
- Medication Administration and Support Plans: Administer medication and adhere to individual support plans, ensuring customers receive the necessary care and support.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete clear, concise, and factual handover notes and incident reports, maintaining accurate records and facilitating effective communication.
- Personal Care and Support: Provide personal care, including toileting, showering, feeding, and dressing, when required, promoting dignity and respect for customers.
- Community Engagement: Help customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities, fostering social connections and a sense of belonging.
- Flexibility and Availability: Be willing to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers, and weekends, ensuring adequate coverage and support for customers.
- Communication Skills: Possess versatile communication skills, including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers, promoting effective communication and understanding.
- Driver's License and NDIS Clearance: Hold a current driver's license and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or be willing to obtain, ensuring safe and reliable transportation and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- First Aid Certificate and Covid Vaccinations: Possess a current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003) and up-to-date Covid vaccinations, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Qualifications and Experience: Hold formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar, and possess relevant experience in supporting individuals with disabilities, although not essential, it is highly desirable.
