Business Intelligence Solutions Leader

This role is accountable for the delivery of comprehensive Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions, partnering closely with stakeholders to define requirements and drive design, development, and implementation.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the BI and analytics platform, ensuring its availability and stability, while leading and mentoring a team of skilled professionals in delivering impactful business insights.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive BI and analytics solutions that provide actionable insights to all levels of the organization.
  • Designing and implementing effective BI and analytics strategies and solutions, working closely with project managers to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Establishing templates, standards, and guidelines for report developers in both IT and business units, driving consistency in reporting practices and enabling data democratization through self-service BI for business users.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to build impactful BI and analytics solutions, collaborating with fellow IT stakeholders to develop strategic solutions.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of experienced professionals in developing best practices in business intelligence and analytics.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, with 8+ years of managing delivery and operation of BI and analytics platforms and services, preferably in the insurance or financial industry.
  • A deep understanding of Power BI, data visualization practices, and underlying data engineering and modeling to support reporting data layers, preferably in Databricks or similar.
  • Experience in reporting within the life insurance domain, covering claims, policy, underwriting (highly valued).
  • Proven experience in independently leading the technical delivery of a team of BI engineers, both onshore and offshore, while effectively managing delivery risks and issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, coach, and develop high-performing Business Intelligence teams.
