Senior Occupational Therapist Role

- Assist clients in daily life and community activities through tailored interventions
- Conduct functional assessments to inform treatment plans
- Recommend environmental modifications and assistive technology to enhance independence
- Provide education and guidance to families, carers, and employers
- Promote healthy living initiatives and support early childhood development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical direction and implementing procedures across the team
- Reviewing and ensuring adherence to accreditation standards
- Organising student placements and providing mentoring support
- Supporting participant inclusion and adaptation in their chosen activities
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients' emotional, cognitive, developmental, and physical capabilities
- Planning and directing programs through vocational, recreational, social, and educational activities
- Assessing clients' functional potential and recommending environmental adaptations to maximise performance
- Providing advice on adapting home, leisure, work, and school environments
- Delivering goal-directed early childhood supports and community education initiatives
