Job Title: Staff Specialist in Supportive Care

This is a key role in working in the Department of Supportive Care at the Cancer Centre.

  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and hold a current Drivers Licence class C or higher.
  • Sound clinical knowledge in Supportive Care demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills and ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.

The appointee will provide admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient and on-call specialty services as determined by the Department of Supportive Care. They will be responsible directly to the Head of Department for the provision of Supportive Care services including patient care, research and teaching.

Successful applicants may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with qualifications, experience and scholarship.

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position requires a Working with Children Check issued by the office of the Children's Guardian.
