Job Description

The role of the Moulding Technician is a "hands-on" position that requires making necessary adjustments to technical blow moulding and auxiliary equipment in a safe and controlled manner.

Our team prioritises quality products made to controlled specifications and continues to optimise machine and process performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure correct changeover and setup of product tooling during shifts
  2. Perform colour and material changes as per the production plan
  3. Make machine adjustments according to setup sheets and training to maintain quality products
  4. Setup ancillary equipment, including blenders, leak detectors, robotic systems, IML systems, and vision systems
  5. Assist Shift Supervisors and Operators with successful production runs
  6. Conduct process troubleshooting, part inspections, and other functions to ensure part conformity and quality
  7. Verify paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at startup and during production
  8. Maintain machine and auxiliary equipment processing parameters to ensure quality, weight, and cycle time compliance
  9. Prioritise work and machines according to the production plan to ensure timely delivery without defects
  10. Perform mechanical maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment to keep them in satisfactory condition
  11. Work overtime and weekends as required
  12. Packing product during breaks and slow periods
  13. Operate forklift as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in process, die setup, or die maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably with plastics experience
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude with troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting extrusion blow moulding machines
  • Knowledge of plastic materials and processes, mould design, and auxiliary equipment involved in blow moulding
  • Ability to assess bottle quality and operational efficiency
  • Reliability and quality-focused attitude
  • High school diploma or equivalent, technical or vocational training preferred
  • Cert III in Process Polymer Moulding or equivalent
