About the Role

Peter Mac is seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our team in the Department of Anatomical Pathology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anatomical pathology and cytopathology services, conducting research, and supervising registrars and laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting of histopathology and cytopathology cases with clinically acceptable turn-around times.
  • Authorisation of all assigned histopathology and cytopathology cases.
  • Liaison with clinicians and participation in relevant meetings.
  • Performance of cut up and fine needle aspiration biopsies when required.
Research and Development

You will be expected to conduct high-quality research leading to publications in high-impact journals and contribute to the development of new treatments and therapies.

Education and Training

You will be responsible for supervising and training registrars and laboratory staff, creating a learning environment, and fostering high professional standards.

Requirements
  • Doctor of Medical Science degree.
  • AHPRA Registration.
  • FRCPA (Anatomical Pathology Specialty) certification.
