Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curator and Research Manager to lead our team in planning, developing, and delivering high-quality research, interpretation, and curatorial outcomes for strategic projects and visitor experiences.

This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of our institution by driving innovative and impactful research initiatives that showcase our collections and stories.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in art history, social history, museum studies, or a related field, with substantial senior management experience within cultural institutions. They will be able to inspire and motivate teams, contribute to content creation, collection development, audience engagement, and public access to our collections, sites, and stories.

We care for a group of historic houses, gardens, and their collections, including the National and UNESCO World Heritage-listed Hyde Park Barracks. Our vision is to support and empower First Nations people, communities, and culture.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Higher research degree in art history, social history, museum studies, fine arts, research, or related field
  • Substantial senior management experience within cultural institutions with responsibility for leading outcomes-driven research and/or curatorial programs
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
