Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. To oversee the day-to-day operation of shift workers and equipment usage at an underground mine site.
  2. To ensure all workers on shift are trained and competent to perform their duties safely and productively at all times.
  3. Training of National Supervisors and workforce to a high standard.
  4. Ensure mining operations are conducted in a safe manner and any safety issues are promptly reported to the Underground Manager.
  5. Ensure targets are met.
  6. Perform the daily management, control, and supervision of the working areas in accordance with all relevant Acts and Regulations.
  7. Oversee the mine's interest with regard to duty of care to all employees, sub-contractors, and visitors.
  8. Organise crews, rosters, and day-to-day running of that particular site.
  9. Conduct daily work planning meetings/toolbox meetings.
  10. Submit incident reports in writing to the Site Manager.
  11. Carry out crew training, practical assessments, and review each employee's development, mentoring, and performance.

Skills, Experience & Attributes:

  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in an Underground Shift Supervisors role.
  2. Have a current Underground Shift Supervisors Ticket.
  3. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  4. Current Driver's Licence.

A full pre-employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol, and site-specific clearances.
