Job Title: Learning Area Manager

About the Role:

The Learning Area Manager will lead and manage the Science Learning Area at the Secondary Campus, with accountability for delivering a Christ-centred, developmentally appropriate Science curriculum for Years 7-12 and alignment with the College's mission and curriculum framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the effective operation of the designated Learning Area of Science at the Secondary Campus.
  • Oversee curriculum design and implementation across all Science subject areas, ensuring alignment with the curriculum framework and the College's mission.
  • Foster a coherent set of learning experiences that promote skill development, cross-disciplinary integration, and the use of diverse teaching and learning strategies.
  • Supervise and support teachers through professional development, performance management and curriculum planning.
  • Monitor classroom delivery to ensure high standards of teaching, assessment and reporting, while encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to College-wide initiatives as part of the Secondary leadership team; participate in Curriculum Team meetings; lead Learning Area contributions to strategic and operational plans.
  • Teach up to 0.7 FTE as part of this senior role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Active involvement in a local Protestant Christian church and demonstration of exemplary Christian lifestyle.
  • TRBWA registration or ability to obtain.
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
  • Willingness to obtain a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
