Cardiovascular Research Manager Opportunity

Role Overview

A key opportunity to drive cardiovascular health initiatives and foster partnerships between research institutions, government agencies, and industry leaders. This role is pivotal in delivering strategic research capacity building projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the CVRN, including stakeholder engagement and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide secretariat support to the CVRN Executive Committee and Rising Stars Sub-Committee.
  • Develop and manage research grant programs, ensuring transparent processes and peer review.
  • Organise capacity-building workshops, networking events, and the annual Showcase & Ministerial Awards Ceremony.
  • Foster collaboration between NSW research institutions, government agencies, and academic bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, particularly with the NSW Office of Health and Medical Research.
  • Lead and support a small team to deliver CVRN's key programs and activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cardiovascular researchers and institutions.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a medical research, health, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the health and medical research landscape in NSW and Australia.
  • Experience in project management, grant administration, or research strategy development.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organisational and event management capabilities, with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills to engage diverse audiences, including government, researchers, and donors.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
