House Manager Position Overview

About the Role

A unique opportunity exists for a House Manager to oversee day-to-day operations within our Residential Care program in the Bunbury region.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager and be responsible for ensuring the home provides a safe, culturally appropriate, and healing environment for children and young people.

This is a permanent, full-time position with access to salary packaging benefits.

The role requires shift work at times, including early morning starts and occasional weekends with penalty rates applied.

As a key member of the team, you will mentor and support Residential Support Workers in providing purposeful care to young people with high and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish trusting relationships with children and young people through active engagement and visible interest.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters growth and resilience.
  • Lead and manage a team of residential workers, providing reflective supervision and coordinating team meetings to ensure the best interests of children and young people are met.
  • Support staff to apply the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention system (TCI) to prevent, de-escalate, and respond to crisis incidents.
  • Roster residential workers effectively, managing risks and staffing levels to meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Coordinate the intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and their exit to permanent homes or step-down services.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to maintain accurate records in the CIRTS database.
