We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Residential Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our residential care homes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a leader to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in residential care.

As a Residential Manager, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and culturally appropriate environment that promotes growth and resilience. You will lead a team of Residential Support Workers in providing purposeful support to young people with high and complex needs.

Your goal will be to enhance the lives of young people in a 24/7 residential setting, incorporating a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach within the daily structure and purposeful programming.

Key Responsibilities
  • BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
  • Establish trusting relationships with children and young people through visible interest and active engagement.
  • Ensure the home is a place that is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, and appropriately engaging and stimulating.
  • TEAM LEADERSHIP
  • Manage, support and provide reflective supervision and team meetings to a team of residential workers.
  • Lead staff to work as a team in the best interests of children and young people.
  • CRISIS PREVENTION AND RESPONSE
  • Support staff to apply the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention system (TCI) to prevent, de-escalate and respond to crisis incidents involving children and young people.
  • ROSTERING AND INTAKE
  • Undertake rostering of residential workers ensuring that risks are managed, and staffing levels reflect the needs of children and young people living in the home.
  • Coordinate the intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and the exit of children and young people to permanent homes or step-down services.
