Platform Engineering Leadership Role

The Staff Platform Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving excellence, quality and performance for an IT service across multiple portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive business outcomes through design, implementation and support.
  • Embed security best practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows to enhance overall resilience.
  • Serve as a technical mentor for platform engineering standards and architecture.
  • Perform security assessments across platform components and manage escalated issues, incidents & problems for network and security services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrate expertise in the Full Cycle model.
  • Possess passion for designing, developing, deploying and running high-quality modern solutions.
  • Contribute to a culture where quality, inclusiveness and excellence are championed.
  • Lead security practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows with extensive experience.
  • Provide technical mentorship and thought leadership for platform engineering standards and architecture.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments across platform components.
  • Able to educate, communicate and positively influence stakeholders, including executives.
Tech Requirements

Familiarity with:

  • F5 BIG-IP, F5OS, LTM, DNS modules and iRule development.
  • TCP/HTTP understanding for packet inspection and TCP flow in network and application paths.
  • Networking concepts, routing and switching; firewall security policy management.
  • Network automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC), CI/CD, DevSecOps.
  • DevSecOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, Terraform, GitHub, IaC, APIs).
  • Source control (GitHub, GitLab).
  • AWS services (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, Serverless, Step Functions) or similar.
  • CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins/TeamCity or similar.
  • Discovery and validation of network connectivity with enterprise tools (Observe, Splunk, SolarWinds, Qualys, Grafana).
  • Documentation of existing infrastructure services to inform roadmaps.
