About the Role

As a parks and gardens apprentice, you will be responsible for maintaining sports fields throughout the year, creating new gardens by planting new plants and mulching garden beds, performing general maintenance such as trimming, mowing, weeding, edging, and hedging, and installing synthetic turf on various surfaces.

  • Maintain turf on sports fields throughout the year to ensure they are always in top condition.
  • Create new gardens by selecting and planting suitable plants, and applying mulch to garden beds to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as pruning, mowing, weeding, edging, and hedging to keep the grounds looking their best.
  • Install synthetic turf on various surfaces to provide a safe and durable playing surface.
