About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team as an Eating Disorders Specialist in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Eating Disorder Service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician to work with children, adolescents, and families affected by eating disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specialist care, assessment, education, counselling, and group work.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver specialist child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with a diagnosed eating disorder.
  • Provide assessment, education, counselling, and group work.
  • Undertake discipline-specific assessments when required to ensure optimal understanding of the presenting mental health/eating disorder issue.
  • Act as a consultant and resource person to CAMHS, other agencies, and the community by providing information and education regarding child, adolescent, and family mental health eating disorders.
  • Promote access and equity of services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families.
  • The role will provide outreach at CAMHS community team sites.
About You
  • You will have an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification.
  • You will be able to communicate and work effectively with other professionals, facilitate group functions, and work as a team member.
  • You will have clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues, including eating disorders.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical work within your discipline, including group work.
  • You will have knowledge of developmental theory and the mental and physical impact of eating disorders on the individual and the family unit.
