At Goodstart Early Learning, we're seeking a passionate and experienced Centre Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you'll play a vital role in providing healthy, nutritious meals for young minds and bodies.

About the Role

  • \
  • Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals that cater to special dietary requirements and allergies\
  • Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan menus and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director\
  • Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic\
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional service and quality in meal provision\
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to food safety, health and wellbeing\
  • Take initiative to continuously improve kitchen operations and processes\
  • Support the Centre Director in menu planning and development to meet changing needs and preferences\
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance cooking skills and knowledge\
  • Perform other related duties as required\

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience in a childcare setting\
  • Current Working with Children Check\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment\
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting, bending and standing for extended periods\
  • Flexibility and adaptability in working hours and schedule\
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite\
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)\
  • Valid driver's licence (desirable)\
