Job Opportunity

City of Palmerston is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Investigation and Compliance Officer.

  • As a key member of the Regulatory Services team, you will provide guidance, supervision, mentoring, and support to rangers in their job requirements relating to investigation work.
  • You will undertake complex investigations, complaints management, review of contested infringement notices, and contribute to the delivery of enforcing Council By-Laws and other relevant legislation within the municipality.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high level of customer service skills, sound administrative skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

They will also have proven experience of working in a regulatory or law enforcement background, negotiation and mediation with people and external stakeholders in high conflict situations, interpretation and applying legislation and regulations, undertaking complex investigations and making recommendations to senior management.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will hold a Senior First Aid Certificate and OCHRE card or be able to obtain upon commencement, a Diploma in Government Investigations or a similar qualification, and have the ability to competently manage difficult situations and people.
