The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Field Engineer to take on a challenging role that involves design and compliance, construction, and project management. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and documenting engineering briefs, scheduling design with outsourced engineers, performing in-house engineering design, and project management and tracking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document engineering briefs for new projects
  • Schedule design with external engineering teams
  • Perform in-house engineering design and analysis
  • Manage and track projects from conception to completion
  • Develop material take-offs from layout designs for quotation purposes
  • Meet with project contractors to discuss requirements for installations
  • Verify and certify installations in projects for compliance with seismic design standards
  • Conduct research and development in new and existing products to optimize engineering design
  • Maintain an up-to-date library of in-house products and information
  • Use FEA and advanced engineering software to investigate and determine resistance of specially-designed frames against seismic loading

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Structural, Seismic, or Mechanical Engineer
  • Seismic knowledge and experience an advantage
  • Ability to work on-site and travel around Australia (approximately 20% of the time)
