About Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre

The centre delivers educational programs for up to 162 remanded and sentenced young people.

Students have diverse learning needs, with a significant majority having had disrupted or negative schooling experiences.

Our goal is to address this by supporting students to close individual learning gaps and attain vocational skills leading to qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching, training and support to participants to achieve educational or employment outcomes;
  • Ensure all participants are engaged in activities that focus on training, employment or personal development;
  • Build relationships and network with employers, stakeholders, training providers and community links.

Experience in delivering vocational training or developing apprentices will be highly valued, as will a demonstrated capacity to build relationships and networks with employers and other stakeholders to support young people to gain entry into the building and construction field.

Desirable Criteria:

  • An understanding of the Australian Government Core Skills for Work Developmental Framework;
  • Experience with competency-based training in foundation skills and pre-employment training.
