Australian Unity is proud to be one of the largest employers of Aboriginal people in NSW. Our Aboriginal Home Health team has been caring for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders and community in NSW for over 30 years.
Our mission is to empower our elders to live in the comfort of their homes for as long as possible, while receiving ongoing culturally appropriate care and connecting with other members of the community.

The Opportunity
As a member of our Aboriginal Home Health team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our elders and community. You'll work in a rewarding and challenging environment, providing personal care and support to our clients in their own homes.
Working for Australian Unity, you'll enjoy ongoing training and be part of a family committed to making a positive impact to the community. This role will be servicing the communities of Newtown, Glebe, and Burwood.
Who we are looking for:
- A compassionate, empathetic, respectful Carer
- Has a reliable car and Australian Driver Licence
- Vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 Doses)
- 12 + months personal care experience required
- Cert III in Individual Support will be highly regarded *can be obtained through our traineeships program - all fees paid (for eligible employees)
What you will be doing:
- Perform Personal Care duties including showering, feeding and toileting; assist in oral medication
- Social support such as accompanying our clients to their doctor appointment/s, shopping & social outings
- Domestic assistance such as cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, bed making, and meal preparation
