Job Overview

Catastrophe modelling research analysts play a pivotal role in assessing and mitigating global catastrophe risk. They work on evaluating catastrophe models, conducting climate research, and performing risk analysis across various perils.

  • Evaluate catastrophe models from external vendors using portfolio assessments and internal processes.
  • Develop and integrate research findings into modelling processes to enhance catastrophe and climate risk understanding.
  • Contribute to global projects with internal and external partners to drive collaborative outcomes.
  • Analyse model components to assess their suitability and impact.
  • Present recommendations and insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc tasks such as catastrophe event response and data analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Natural Hazards, Geophysics, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency in catastrophe modelling tools (e.g., RMS, AIR) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) is necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in catastrophe modelling, risk analysis, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical insights to diverse audiences are essential.
  • A curious and proactive approach to exploring model assumptions and challenging vendor methodologies is beneficial.
