Job Title

Technical Officer - Sports Turf and Irrigation

About the Role

The City of Moreton Bay is seeking a proactive and experienced Technical Officer to contribute to the planning, delivery and monitoring of the region's sports turf maintenance program.

  1. Undertaking end-to-end activities across sports turf areas, including contractor engagement to efficiently deliver Council's turf program to required standards.
  2. Providing specialist technical advice to stakeholders, monitoring and investigating turf conditions to ensure safety and sustainability.
  3. Reviewing and enhancing annual maintenance programs to drive optimal delivery outcomes and value for money.
  4. Developing annual budgets and preparing program initiation submissions, specifications, procedures and guidelines for turf maintenance, irrigation assets and renewal projects.
  5. Managing procurement, contract and project administration activities related to sports field renewal and maintenance.
  6. Carrying out regular site inspections and contractor audits, ensuring contractor workplace health and safety adherence.
Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end management of sports turf areas, including contractor engagement and turf program delivery.
  • Providing technical expertise to stakeholders, ensuring turf safety and sustainability.
  • Developing and implementing annual maintenance programs to optimize delivery outcomes.
  • Preparing budget submissions, specifications, procedures and guidelines for turf maintenance and irrigation assets.
  • Managing procurement, contract and project administration activities for sports field renewal and maintenance.
  • Ensuring contractor compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
