Job Summary

Project Management Leadership Opportunity

A senior project manager is required to lead and facilitate cross-functional project teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the project lifecycle, from conception to completion, and excellent knowledge of project management concepts, tools, and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising at a strategic level on project conception, including providing advice on different approaches to achieve client objectives.
  • Leading the establishment of overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical, and performance parameters.
  • Planning for and managing quality, safety, health, and environment issues.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems throughout the project.
  • Project planning, ensuring the production of detailed project plans.
  • Advising on procurement of resources.
  • Leading and facilitating cross-functional project teams.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including KPIs to improve project performance.
  • Managing change control processes.
  • Monitoring and advising on project finances.
  • Managing the flow of project information between teams and clients through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Ensuring the production of formal project progress reports and other documents.
  • Taking a leading role in interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years experience in project management and/or construction management.
  • Thorough understanding of the total project life cycle from project conception stage through operational stages to completion and post-project review.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of main project management concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Design, management, or construction experience gained within general construction environments.
  • Experience of leading project management commissions for medium-sized to large construction projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Experience of working within client-focused environments.
  • Experience of working within Australian markets and/or Australian projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team is essential.
