Senior Power System Designer

This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of a dynamic, collaborative team working on high-value projects in Australasia.

The successful candidate will have experience in leading technical delivery, developing and mentoring junior engineers, and designing high voltage substations.

A strong understanding of engineering disciplines, including electricity transmission, distribution, and traction power projects is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects from feasibility to completion
  2. Developing, mentoring, and leading junior engineers
  3. Designing high voltage substations and other related infrastructure
  4. Working with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports
  5. Providing concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings, etc.

Requirements include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in substation primary engineering position across HV/EHV substations design (up to 500kV ideally)
  • Understanding of design and its impact on construction
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex issues to stakeholders
