Job Title: Technical and Application Specialist

 

Job Description:

This role is accountable for utilising technical expertise in healthcare IT systems and technologies to drive digital transformation within the organisation.

The Technical and Application Specialist will play a pivotal role in the delivery of Health IT projects through all phases, including solution design, implementation, testing and deployment.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific health IT technologies, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, integration platforms, Business Intelligence (BI) and data analytics, cybersecurity and other point of care solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams, IT and clinical stakeholders on requirements for successful implementation, configuration, optimisation and adoption of health IT technology.
  • Lead Solution Design approval processes by presenting and contributing to governance processes, including Design Authority and Configuration Approval Board (CAB) approval.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with sharp analytical skills and creative problem solving.
  • Provide a point of escalation and specialist advice for technical issues and incidents involving health IT systems.
  • Enforce corporate IT standards and processes by creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge base.
  • Assess the impact of, and plan for change across health IT applications in collaboration with service management teams, integration specialists, clinical application specialists, architecture and end-user computing to ensure effective delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical expertise and leadership to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Leading Solution Design approval processes.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Providing specialist advice for technical issues and incidents.
  • Enforcing corporate IT standards and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably in the healthcare IT industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in more than one IT healthcare technologies.
