The role of Mechanical Engineer is a vital part of the Underground Mine Services operational team.
We require someone who can help prepare our Services team for the transition to Cemented Paste Fill and contribute to the successful implementation of the underground paste reticulation network.
This is a dynamic and hands-on role that offers a broad scope of responsibility, combining technical engineering, project management, coordination, and execution.
Responsibilities- Lead a culture of care and act as a visible safety leader for the Mine Services team and stakeholders.
- Drive departmental capability through data analysis and tool application.
- Develop and execute mechanical improvement projects from planning to closeout.
- Support leadership in managing risk across mechanical systems.
- Conduct regular budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Have experience in heavy industry, mining, or underground operations.
- Have a strong understanding of mechanical infrastructure such as compressed air systems, water reticulation, pumping stations, barricades, backfill reticulation, and ventilation systems.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in PowerBI for data consolidation and analysis.
- Have strong customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
- Be a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
