Associate, Investigations Diligence and Compliance

We are seeking a skilled Associate to support our Investigation, Disputes and Compliance practice in conducting thorough investigative and intelligence due diligence research.

This role involves working closely with case managers to gather information from public and proprietary sources, identifying potential risks through detailed analysis, and distilling complex findings into actionable insights.

As an Associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting exploratory research on businesses, individuals, industries, and events using various online resources.
  • Identifying reputational, regulatory, and financial crime risks through meticulous analysis.
  • Reviewing official public records and other forms of open-source material available online.
  • Interpreting and presenting significant patterns and developments from research findings.

You will work as part of a collaborative team to deliver high-quality reports that address key questions and concerns.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong academic background or equivalent professional experience demonstrating analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and critical thinking.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in research, investigations, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with the Australian political, business, institutional, and social landscape.
  • Passion for research and analysis, with a proactive approach to solving complex questions.
  • Strong writing ability, preferably with a background in Communications or Journalism, Political Science or International Relations, or Law.
