Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Senior Metallurgist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.

  • Organise and maintain laboratory area in a safe and effective manner, adhering to industry standards.
  • Run metallurgical monitoring activities, including bottle rolls, size analysis and spot assays checks as required, to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction projects, leveraging expertise in mineral processing to drive business results.
  • Liaise with Mining and Geology departments to ensure ore haulage aligns with processing schedule, promoting seamless integration across teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement process by identifying opportunities to improve plant efficiency, through data-driven decision making and collaborative problem solving.
  • Attend operations prestart meetings, providing input on key issues and priorities.
  • Complete Met Accounting activities as required, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Provide written reports on test work results to Metallurgical team and wider site personnel, facilitating informed decision making and process improvements.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in mineral processing, with at least 2 years working in gold processing.
  • Exposure to Citect software, Microsoft Office products and Pronto, with proficiency in using these tools to streamline processes and improve productivity.
  • Knowledge of statutory safety relevant to a fixed plant, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment.
  • The ability to lead a collaborative team environment, fostering open communication and driving positive outcomes.
