Job Title: Indigenous Engagement Professional

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of strategies to engage with First Nations communities, fostering positive relationships and promoting mutual understanding.

This role involves:

  • Developing and implementing engagement strategies in collaboration with community stakeholders and organizations.
  • Facilitating partnerships between our organization and Indigenous groups to support reconciliation efforts.
  • Coordinating events, workshops, and initiatives that promote cultural competency and understanding.
  • Advocating for Indigenous rights within the organization and externally.
  • Providing training and resources to staff members on Indigenous cultures and histories.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Indigenous studies, social work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing reconciliation efforts.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to Indigenous rights.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings or events.
