About the Role- Lead mechanical engineering delivery for FEED and Detailed Design phases, ensuring all outputs meet project, client, and regulatory requirements
- Plan, organize, and allocate resources to achieve milestones on time and within budget
- Develop and review engineering documentation, including Design Basis documents, P&IDs, specifications, equipment datasheets, and material requisitions
- Select and specify mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, filters, heat exchangers, pumps, separators, compressors, gas turbines, gas engines, and piping systems
- Apply relevant Australian Standards, codes, and client specifications to all mechanical designs and deliverables
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors to resolve technical issues and maintain alignment across project data and deliverables
- Champion quality assurance by adhering to quality policies and taking accountability for the standard of all deliverables before submission
- Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient designs
- Mentor and supervise mechanical engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and reviewing work to ensure accuracy and quality
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
- RPEQ & RPEV, VBA certified, or eligible for professional registration
- Minimum 10 years' engineering experience in the oil & gas industry
- Minimum 10 years' experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering Design
- Recent experience in heavy industry, minerals processing, chemical processing, or onshore oil & gas projects
- Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering projects or packages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven stakeholder management abilities
- Strong planning, coordination, and execution skills in a multi-disciplinary environment
