The Role

We are seeking an Environmental Geochemist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic group contributing technical expertise to various environmental and mine waste-related projects.

This position will support projects through all phases of development from early-stage assessments to closure. Responsibilities include planning, execution, and interpretation of geochemical investigations and studies, including characterisation of mine waste, water quality assessments, and predictive modelling of environmental impacts.

The ideal candidate will have degree-qualified in Environmental Science, Geochemistry, Geology, or a related field with a solid understanding of geochemical processes and their relevance to mining and environmental projects.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10 to 15+ years' experience in environmental geochemistry preferably within the mining or consulting sectors;
  • Experience in design, execution, and interpretation of geochemical characterisation programs (e.g., static and kinetic testing);
  • Technical expertise in Acid Rock Drainage and related fields.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills;
  • A sound understanding of environmental legislation and permitting frameworks;
  • Excellent technical writing and reporting skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a larger project team;
  • A willingness to travel for fieldwork and project support within Australia and internationally;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geochemistry, Geology, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
