Job Description

This position will support the Legal Metrology Branch to deliver a major IT enhancement project for DISR; the Trade Measurement Activity and Reporting System Phase 4 Enhancement Project (the project). The project will deliver critical enhancements to the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and associated NMI Services Portal (NMISP) as part of NMI's broader digital strategy.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect with strong analytical and communication skills who has a strong understanding of the data lifecycle. You will map current data holdings, inputs and dependencies impacted by the project and research and recommend options for improvement.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a Data Architect in Australian Public Service settings, preferably within agencies with regulatory compliance responsibilities. They will have well-developed oral and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, including well developed negotiation and presentation skills for diverse audiences.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing data architecture and integration frameworks that enable best practice data lifecycle management and ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies and regulations. They will collaborate with key stakeholders to optimise existing reporting processes, including setting standards for data accuracy and quality.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other areas in the division, the department and across government to deliver outcomes and share knowledge. They will also contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a Data Architect in Australian Public Service settings, preferably within agencies with regulatory compliance responsibilities.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other areas in the division, the department and across government to deliver outcomes and share knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
